Quick Chek Among 'Best Places to Work in N.J.'

Honored for second year in a row

WHITEHOUSE STATION, N.J. -- Quick Chek, the privately owned chain of more than 125 food-store locations throughout New Jersey and the southern New York metro area, was named one of the Best Places to Work in New Jersey for the second consecutive year by NJBiz, the Garden State's leading business publication.

The weekly business journal's Best Places to Work survey and award program was designed to identify and honor the best places of employment in New Jersey, benefiting the state's economy, its workforce and businesses. The Best Places to Work in New Jersey program [image-nocss] is made up of 55 companies split into two groups: 30 medium-sized companies (25-249 employees) and 25 large-sized companies (250 employees or more). Quick Chek has been named one of the Best Places to Work in New Jersey in the large category and will be honored during an awards ceremony on April 26.

"Quick Chek's true mission and core values revolve around operating as an outstanding place to work," said Bob Graczyk, vice president of human resources for Quick Chek. "We pride ourselves in creating an environment where our team members not only enjoy their work, but also like the people they work with and the customers they serve. Becoming one of NJBiz's Best Places to Work in New Jersey for the second consecutive year validates this commitment to our employees as we continue to provide our customers with fresh food choices, outstanding coffee and a dedicated, friendly staff of customer service representatives."

Companies from across the state entered the two-part process to determine the 55 best places to work in New Jersey. The first part consisted of evaluating each nominated company's workplace policies, practices, philosophy, systems and demographics. This part of the process was worth approximately 25% of the total evaluation. The second part consisted of an employee survey to measure the employee experience. This part of the process was worth approximately 75% of the total evaluation. The combined scores determined the top companies and the final ranking.

Best Companies Group managed the overall registration and survey process, as well as analyzed the data provided and used its expertise to determine the final rankings.

Whitehouse Station, N.J.-based Quick Chek operates more than 125 retail locations in New Jersey and the southern New York metro area. Quick Chek's locations include 12 pharmacy stores and 29 locations with fuel.
