QuikTrip Closes Warehouse Deal

Has purchased Midlothian distribution facility to serve DFW

TULSA, Okla. -- Quik N Tasty Foods Inc., a unit of QuikTrip Corp., has closed the deal on July 7 to purchase a 316,000-square-foot distribution center in Midlothian, Texas. Convenience retailer QuikTrip will use the center to distribute to all of its stores in the Dallas/Fort Worth area.

Commercial real-estate executive Jesse Pruitt and his company, Somervell Commercial Realty, represented QuikTrip. Pruitt was the broker for QuikTrip in conjunction with Chris Teasdale of Colliers International in Dallas.

The one-story facility in Midlothian is on 48.84 acres and [image-nocss] was built three years ago by Kehe Food Distributors LLC, Chicago. The building has 72-foot ceilings and 38 truck docks. The interior will be retrofitted with a high-tech racking system. The building currently has 40,500 square feet of freezer space and 3,500 square feet of office space to which more offices will be added.

Tulsa, Okla.-based QuikTrip operates convenience stores in nine statesArizona, Illinois, Iowa, Georgia, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, Oklahoma and Texas.
