Thorntons Opens 161st Store

Louisville "one-stop-shop" location includes products at grocery store sizes, carwash, more
LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- Thorntons has opened its newest convenience store, in Louisville, Ky., on August 17, 2010. With the addition of this location, Thorntons will operate 161 c-stores throughout Indiana, Kentucky, Illinois, Tennessee and Ohio. This new location will also feature a touchfree carwash.

Customers can look forward to a clean and friendly environment with high-quality foods, such as fresh sandwiches, salads, fruit and more. The new store features a redesigned look with a greater focus on fresh food, fountain drinks and hot beverages. This includes Thorntons' roller [image-nocss] grill bar design featuring "hot off the grill" items like hot dogs, corndogs and more. It also offers a large variety of fountain drinks, frozen Icee flavors, smoothies and coffee.

The store also offers products at grocery store sizes at competitive prices, the company said, and "100% Guaranteed" fuel.

Many promotions will take place in the first 30 days following the grand opening of the new location, Thorntons added Customers can expect free 32-oz. fountain drinks, free 20-oz. coffee, as well as many "buy one, get one free" specials. Beginning on Saturday, August 21, there will be several "doorbuster" giveaways, including free RedBox DVD rental coupons, free two-liter soda, Thorntons coffee mugs and more. The giveaways will take place on every Saturday for seven weeks.
