TripAdvisor Again Honors Parker's Market Urban Gourmet

C-store retailer's showplace market receives 2014 Winner Certificate of Excellence

SAVANNAH, Ga. -- Parker's Market Urban Gourmet has been named a 2014 Winner of the Certificate of Excellence by TripAdvisor, the world's largest travel site, based on the ratings of customers at Savannah's leading gourmet market, deli and coffee bar in the city's Historic District in Savannah, Ga.

Now in its fourth year, the award celebrates hospitality excellence and is given only to establishments that consistently achieve outstanding traveler reviews on TripAdvisor. Winners of the Certificate of Excellence are located all over the world and represent the upper echelon of businesses listed on the website, with only the top 10% receiving the award. Winners include accommodations, eateries and attractions of all sizes.

"We are proud that our Parker's Market Urban Gourmet store has earned the TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence again this year," said Greg Parker, president and CEO of Parker's, a leading convenience store retailer. "We work daily to innovate, redesign and enhance our gourmet foods, products selection and the overall customer experience at this unique store in our group," he added.

When selecting Certificate of Excellence winners, TripAdvisor uses a proprietary algorithm to determine the honorees that takes into account reviews ratings. Businesses must maintain an overall TripAdvisor bubble rating of at least four out of five. Volume and recency of reviews, as well as a business' tenure and popularity ranking are also factored into the algorithm.

Newton, Mass.-based TripAdvisor is a leading travel planning website that offers advice from real travelers and a variety of travel choices and planning features with links to booking tools.
