RONKONKOMA, N.Y. -- Balance Bar, maker of nutrition energy bars, has announced its new Balance bites line, a first for the Balance Bar snack portfolio.

Available in two flavors, chocolate and peanut butter, bites will be available in single-serve pouches that are 190 calories, have 13 grams of protein and are gluten-free and non-GMO.

Balance bites feature Balance Bar's 40-30-30 nutrition principle, which was developed by scientists to help satisfy hunger through a formulation where 40% of calories come from carbohydrates, 30% from protein and 30% from dietary fat.

"With 66% of consumers snacking to satisfy a craving, and 44% snacking on-the-go, it's important to create products that deliver on flavor, nutrition and convenience," said Bradley Charron, senior vice president and general manager for Balance Bar.

Balance bites will be available at retailers in late spring with a manufacturer’s suggested retail price (MSRP) of $1.79 per bag.

Balance Bar is available in four unique product lines (Original, Gold, Dark and bare) that offer more than 20 flavors.

The company is based in Ronkonkoma, N.Y.
