HONOLULU -- Aloha Petroleum Ltd., one of Hawaii's largest gasoline marketers and convenience store operators, is collecting cash donations at its 30 Aloha Island Mart locations on Oahu and the Big Island to support the Muscular Dystrophy Association's (MDA) mission to conquer neuromuscular diseases.

Specially marked collection canisters are located at Aloha Island Mart checkout counters now through August 31. Just for the month of August, Aloha Petroleum will be specifically collecting donations for MDA's "Lei of Hope" program where customers can donate $1 or $5 and receive [image-nocss] their name on a flower, which will be displayed at participating Aloha Island Mart locations.

"Through participation in the program, Aloha Petroleum shows how much they care about 'Jerry's Kids.' We are proud to have them as a partner in the fight against neuromuscular disease," said Audrey Hirayama, MDA Hawaii executive director.
