ampm Pitching Ballpark Promotions

Debuting in Cleveland, Pittsburgh for Indians, Pirates home openers
CLEVELAND & PITTSBURGH -- BP's ampm convenience stores are rolling out the chain's "All You Can Eat" seats promotions at Progressive Field on April 10 for the Cleveland Indians' home opener and at PNC Park on April 13 for the Pittsburgh Pirates' home opener, featuring all-you-can-eat sections, giveaways, interactive games and sweepstakes.

The 2009 baseball season will mark the introduction of the ampm "All You Can Eat" seats concept at both ballparks. For those sitting in the ampm-sponsored section, a ticket will include unlimited hot dogs, hamburgers, nachos, salads, [image-nocss] popcorn, peanuts, ice cream and soda.

In Cleveland, for those sitting in the ampm-sponsored section, a $32 ticket will include unlimited hot dogs, popcorn, peanuts, nachos and soda. The section, which is located in the upper deck along the first base line, will seat about 400 fans each game.

As a sponsor of the Cleveland Indians, ampm will be teaming up with the ball club for other promotions in 2009. In June, ampm will be giving away 30,000 Rick "Wild Thing" Vaughn bobblehead dolls. Fans will also have a chance to score tickets and other prizes with the "Too Much Good Stuff Fan of the Game."

Indians fans can also play the ampm Ballpark Big Shot Sweepstakes. The sweepstakes will include 11 weekly drawings for prizes such as $50 gift cards, as well as one finale week in which fans can win grand prizes such as playoff tickets.

"Our presence at Cleveland Indians games merges the ampm brand values of fun and indulgence with our target consumers' love of baseball," said Andrew Baird, BP's vice president of marketing.

Fans can buy tickets in Progressive Field's ampm "All You Can Eat" seats section three ways: Through the Cleveland Indians website; in person, at the ballpark; by calling (216) 240-HITS.

In Pittsburgh, the seats, located in Section 147 in the Outfield Reserved section of the park, will be available to about 250 fans at every home game in 2009. In addition, seat holders will have dedicated ampm "All You Can Eat" concession stands on the Riverwalk, a promenade between center field and the Allegheny River, so they can sample the snack lineup without missing an inning.

"BP's ampm brand is fun and indulgent," Baird said. "What better way to showcase that than baseball? It's a great pastime and our presence at PNC Park celebrates what we bring to the game, too much good stuff."

The Pirates debuted the all you can eat seats at PNC Park in 2008. BP's ampm, a proud partner of the Pittsburgh Pirates, is the first sponsor of the dedicated section.

BP's ampm pioneered the all you can eat section concept two years ago with the Los Angeles Dodgers. The ampm "All You Can Eat Pavilion" at Dodger Stadium was the first permanent all-inclusive seating area for Major League Baseball. (Some teams already had luxury-seating areas with unlimited concessions and some teams offered all you can eat promotions on selected nights.)

Fans can buy tickets for the ampm "All You Can Eat" seats at PNC Park in three ways: In advance, through the Pittsburgh Pirates website, for $35 per ticket; in advance, by calling (800) BUY-BUCS, also for $35 per ticket; or the day of the game, at the box office, for $40 per ticket.

The ampm brand was founded in 1978 in Southern California by ARCO, which was acquired by BP in 2000. ARCO-branded ampm stores are currently found in California, Nevada, Oregon, Washington and Arizona; BP-branded ampm stores are located in Chicago, Indianapolis, Pittsburgh, Orlando, Columbus, Cleveland, Cincinnati and Atlanta. BP markets more than 15 billion gallons of gasoline every year to U.S. consumers through 13,000 retail outlets. It is the single, global brand formed by the combination of the former British Petroleum, Amoco Corp., Atlantic Richfield (ARCO), ARAL and Burmah Castrol.
