BP's ampm Adding 800 Chase ATMs

Installing units in California, Washington, Arizona, Oregon

LA PALMA, Calif. -- BP said that Chase ATMs will be installed at 800 of its ARCO-branded ampm locations in California, as well as Washington, Arizona, Oregon and Nevada, as part of Chase's nationwide ATM network expansion.

"Chase's ATMs are an exciting addition to our convenience store offering, and will help us grow our customer base," said La Palma, Calif.-based ampm president Bill Fry. "We expect this to help generate additional fuel purchases and in-store sales, further strengthening the ampm brand."

About 75% of the ATMs will be installed in California ampm locations, bringing the total number of Chase ATMs in California to nearly 4,000. The new Chase ATMs began arriving in participating ampm stores in late November, and most will be installed by the end of March 2012.

"We are making banking even more convenient for millions of Chase customers, especially in California," said Jim Sutton, head of ATM distribution and deployment at Chase. "Many of our customers already take advantage of ampm's extensive network, and soon they will be able to use Chase ATMs there with no fee. Select locations will also allow Chase customers to make deposits at the ATM."

New York City-based Chase is the U.S. consumer and commercial banking business of JPMorgan Chase & Co., a leading global financial services firm with assets of $2.2 trillion and operations in more than 60 countries. Chase serves consumers and small businesses through 5,400 bank branches and nearly 17,000 ATMs.

The ampm brand was founded in 1978 in Southern California by ARCO, now a brand of Chicago-based BP. And ARCO-branded ampm stores are currently found in California, Nevada, Oregon, Washington and Arizona, while BP branded ampm stores are located in Chicago, Orlando, Cleveland, Cincinnati and Atlanta. There are also more than 1,200 stores in Brazil and Japan.
