Tedeschi's Hart forms Targeted Solutions

PLYMOUTH, Mass. -- Tom Hart, former vice president of sales for Tedeschi Food Shops, has announced the launch of his new consulting venture, Targeted Solutions LLC.

Targeted Solutions will focus on offering retailers and suppliers a new approach to the challenges and opportunities facing the convenience channel today, said Hart, a 30-year veteran of the business. Expectations on convenience retailers constantly evolve in the marketplace, and I want to be part of these exciting changes. I'll provide innovative, yet practical solutions to help retail businesses [image-nocss] succeed.

Hart started his career as a stock clerk at a Wilson Farms in Buffalo, N.Y., during the late 1970s. In 1986, he moved to Boston and joined Store 24, working third-shift hours. He was promoted to manager and worked his way up the corporate ladder to become COO of Store 24 in New England.

I've experienced first-hand operational challenges that face convenience store retailers at every levelassociates, managers, supervisors and executives, Hart said.

Store 24 CEO Bob Gordon was a mentor to Hart for more than 15 years. He wasn't afraid to take risks, Hart said. By working for Bob, he taught me not only about the industry, but also about the importance of building relationships with employees, customers and our business partners.

In 2002, Hart joined Tedeschi Food Shops and most recently served as vice president of sales for the company under president Charlie Fitzgibbons. The Tedeschi family has treated me really well. I especially appreciate all of the opportunities provided to me by Charlie Fitzgibbons.

Hart was recently the president of NECSA and has served on its board since 1998. He was inducted into the NECSA Hall of Fame in 2006. He has been a past speaker at NACS and CSP Executive Leadership Forum.
