Cantor Named Strategic Insights Manager for Eby-Brown

Was previously with Advantage Sales & Marketing, McLane

NAPERVILLE, Ill. -- Eby-Brown, a leading consumer products distributor to convenience stores in the eastern United States, has named Bruce Cantor as strategic insights manager. He will oversee Eby-Brown's new category management SmartProcess initiative, head up Eby Brown's SmartTeam and work closely with Eby Brown's Category Captains.

Cantor has more than 30 years of experience working in the retail, wholesale and broker businesses, most recently at Advantage Sales & Marketing LLC, where he served as vice president of sales for its c-store division. Prior to that, [image-nocss] he held the position of vice president of McLane Co. Inc.'s Longmont, Colo., distribution center.

"I am very excited about the opportunity to be involved in this game-changing program," said Cantor (pictured). "The SmartProcess maximizes retailers' sales and profits through the use of fact-based, consumer-driven market data that determines which items Eby customers should carry in their stores. The next step is what makes the process unique: We help retailers implement the changes to their product mix and measure the effectiveness of the new items in their stores."

Tom Wake, co-president of Eby-Brown, said that he is "happy to have Bruce on board, and even happier for our customers, as we are offering them a revolutionary new program that will boost their sales."

A privately held company, Eby-Brown, with headquarters in Naperville, Ill., is one of the largest distributors in the United States, providing consumer goods and other products to retailers in the convenience channel of trade. Small and large retail chains, as well as independent retailers throughout the eastern United States, use Eby-Brown for an array of distribution services, execution and flexibility in program design.
