Car Wash Maker Gets WET

Mark VII acquires Michigan operations Washing Equipment Technologies
[Editor's Note: In its press release, Mark VII inadvertently used the abbreviation WET to refer to Washing Equipment Technologies. Washing Equipment Technologies should not be confused with Washing Equipment of Texas, based in Austin, which is the owner of the registered trademark W.E.T. The corrected story appears below.]ARVADA, Colo. -- Car wash equipment company Mark VII Equipment Inc. has announced that it has purchased the Michigan assets of PDQ distributor Washing Equipment Technologies (WET). Terms of the purchase were not disclosed.

Mark VII will service [image-nocss] former WET customers via its existing direct service operation in Michigan, which has added several PDQ-trained technicians to its staff.

"This is a strategic move for us," said Murray Kennedy, chief executive officer at Mark VII. "The extensive ownership changes in the gasoline/convenience store industry have left many key accounts with carwash equipment from multiple vendors, yet they want to buy service from one vendor who can provide excellent service for their entire fleet. We're making sure that's Mark VII."

Mark VII products are sold and supported by a network of factory trained and supported authorized distributors.

Founded in 1966 and headquartered in Arvada, Colo., Mark VII is a wholly owned subsidiary of WashTec AG of Germany, a leading supplier of solutions for the car wash business worldwide. The combined companies have a global installed base of more than 30,000 units and sell a complete line of touchfree and friction rollover, self-serve, truck and tunnel carwash systems, as well as ancillary products and services.
