Circle K to Distribute Page Plus Cellular Prepaid Phones

Initial rollouts in Arizona and Florida, then nationwide
HOLLAND, Ohio -- Circle K has partnered with prepaid cell phone service provider Page Plus Cellular to distribute Page Plus prepaid phones and service plans. The addition marks a milestone for Page Plus, as Circle K is the largest nationwide chain of convenience stores yet to be added to its distribution. The initial rollouts will take place this month in Arizona and Florida, with the national rollout of more than 2,000 stores to follow.

Page Plus, a mobile virtual network operator (MVNO) with a nationwide footprint on one of the nation's largest networks, until now has [image-nocss] had distribution through independent stores and some regional convenience store chains. The Circle K partnership marks the first national chain of c-stores to carry Page Plus prepaid phones and service plans.

"We are extremely excited to partner with Circle K," said Dean McDowell, Page Plus chief financial officer. "They have an excellent reputation for being one of North America's most popular and successful convenience stores. This partnership will really help us meet the increased demand we are seeing for our prepaid phones and services."

McDowell said that believes the increase in the popularity of prepaid cell phones may be due partly to the current economy. "People are realizing that prepaid allows you to control your monthly budget much better than you can with post-paid plans," he said. "In addition, we have recently added some very economical rate plans that bundle large amounts of airtime with large amounts of text messaging. Heavy users are seeing the advantage of these plans and they are creating a lot of demand."

Page Plus Cellular is a prepaid cellular service provider with nationwide coverage on one of the nation's leading networks. Page Plus is consistently ranked among the top prepaid service providers for low rates, flexible plans, and exceptional customer service. Page Plus handsets and service plans are available through its large national network of dealers, and on its website.

The more than 3,000-store Circle K c-store chain is owned and operated by Laval, Quebec-based Alimentation Couche-Tard Inc., which currently operates a network of 5,395 c-stores, 3,556 of which include motor fuel dispensing, located in 11 large geographic markets, including eight in the United States covering 33 states and three in Canada covering 10 provinces.
