Circle K Powers El Paso Electric Bill Pay

Offers automated service to utility customers through TIO

EL PASO, Texas -- Beginning in April, selected Circle K convenience stores in El Paso, Texas, will allow customers of El Paso Electric to pay their bills in cash 24 hours a day using the retailer's ZapLink-branded kiosks and entering account information directly on TIO Networks Corp.'s touchscreen interface.

"We're always happy to bring services and products into our stores that facilitate the needs of our customers," said Debbie Meyer, financial services manager of Circle K Stores Inc. "Our ZapLink program with TIO Networks Corp. continues to grow with important alliances such as El Paso [image-nocss] Electric. Transactions are securely completed in English or Spanish, and all payments will be posted to the customer's account. Customers pay a $2 convenience fee per transaction."

Kerry Lore, El Paso Electric's vice president of administration, added, "El Paso Electric welcomes the opportunity to bring convenience in the payment options we offer to our customers. TIO offers our customers easy access through its many convenience store locations. With this addition, El Paso Electric is able to broaden the options our customers have to pay their bills."

Burnaby, B.C.-based TIO Networks powers the "walkup financial services" marketplace with automated self-service and clerk-assisted solutions. TIO owns a major North American network of cash-accepting ATMs for bill payment and prepaid services for the "cash-preferred" consumer marketplace.

El Paso Electric is a regional electric utility providing generation, transmission and distribution service to approximately 351,000 retail and wholesale customers in a 10,000 square mile area of the Rio Grande valley in west Texas and southern New Mexico.
