CITGO Provides School Supplies to 108 Schools

Announces winning classrooms in first annual Fueling Education promotion

HOUSTON -- CITGO Petroleum Corp. has announced the 108 winners of its first Fueling Education promotion with Classwish. A total of 83 teachers, student teachers and PTA/PTO members across 27 states and the District of Columbia won $1,000 in school supplies for their classrooms.

An additional 25 teachers that submitted entries through Instagram will receive a $100 CITGO Gift Card and $1,000 in supplies.

"Since education is one of the four CITGO pillars of good, we recognize how important it is in promoting positive change," said Gustavo Velasquez, vice president of supply and marketing with CITGO. "We are proud to provide this opportunity for teachers to get the resources they need to fuel the great minds of tomorrow."

The Fueling Education program allowed teachers to create customized school supply lists to address the specific needs of their students and classrooms. Educators were required to register and build their supply wish lists at ClassWish.org from April 16 through July 7, 2013, and winners were randomly selected from schools within the CITGO marketing footprint. In addition, teachers who posted a photo on Instagram were eligible to win the $1,000 in supplies and a $100 CITGO Gift Card through a random drawing.
