Convenience Store Alliance Sweeps Up New Vendor

CAF outdoor cleaning products now available to Phillips 66-branded locations

NORMAN, Okla. -- Convenience Store Alliance (CSA), the Phillips 66-branded retailer buying program, continues to support independent retailers by adding CAF Environmental Solutions as the outdoor cleaning preferred vendor.

With the great number of transactions taking place at the pumps, CSA said it believes that outdoor appearance is enough to drive or lose sales. M/A/R/C Research studies show that after street price, cleanliness is the leading reason customers choose to visit a convenience store.

CAF outdoor cleaning products provide a safe, environmentally friendly and cost-effective way to maintain a clean and inviting store exterior, the company said.

"This is just another step along the path to providing Phillips 66-branded retailers all the best tools to succeed in today's marketplace," said CSA president and CEO Mike Lawson. "Together with CAF, we can provide the best products, services and training all for the best prices. Clean stores and motivated employees will result in bottom line growth for our members."

At the NACS Show in October, CAF's SKINZZ protective equipment shields and TOUCH UP custom paint ranked sixth out of 280 entries for NACS 2013 Cool New Products. More than 10,000 locations worldwide use CAF's products.

"We are extremely pleased to partner with CSA and Phillips 66 to offer our innovative solutions to the daily operational and cleaning challenges faced by convenience stores across the nation," said CAF president Mike Zahajko. "Our cleaning products and, almost more importantly, the ongoing support we provide allows retailers to improve their brand image and the customer experience at their stores, which ultimately leads to increased traffic and customer loyalty."

CAF is one of more than 20 savings programs designed to help independent operators to compete with large chain stores. Through CSA's national account pricing and rebates, current CSA members see average annual savings of more than $11,000 in the grocery and tobacco category and $6,500 on the fountain program. CSA also offers opportunities to save on insurance, fuel and fountain equipment, human resource services and more.

CAF, based in Maple Valley, Wash., is a leading manufacturer of environmental friendly and safe products for use in outdoor cleaning. CAF supplies a complete outdoor cleaning program to improve operational safety, while providing a systematic approach--with real cost savings--while supporting Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design (LEED) principles with truly green products.

Norman, Okla.-based CSA lowers the cost of goods for independent convenience store operators through national account pricing and rebates, while also improving level of services that are typically enjoyed by national chain stores. CSA has negotiated its programs with national vendors to provide cost reduction and operational improvement. For the western and central regions of the United States, CSA is the Phillips 66 Branded Retailer Buying Program. Dealers outside the exclusive territories are also eligible to participate, regardless of brand affiliation.
