"Project Graduation is an independently funded school event," said Al Lyman, of Project Graduation. "We were pleasantly surprised to receive this generous donation from Cumberland Farms [image-nocss] which will help our students celebrate an important time of their lives, in a safe but fun environment."
Cumberland Farms aims to raise at least $1,000 for Project Graduation, it said.
"This school fundraiser is our way of saying thank you to Norwich and its surrounding communities for the support we have been given over the years," said Ari Haseotes, president of the Cumberland Farms Retail Division. "It is our pleasure to give back to the students of Montville High School and make their lives a little bit easier."
Meanwhile, Cumberland Farms recently kicked off the opening of its newest storelocated at a former Thorntons sitein Orange, Conn., with a ribbon-cutting ceremony and fundraiser to benefit the students at Race Brook Elementary School. It is donating 20 cents from every Chill Zone beverage and cup of coffee sold at the store to Race Brook Elementary. The monies raised will go towards providing necessary school supplies, new playground equipment and guest presentations from authors and musicians.
"We were pleasantly surprised to receive this generous donation from Cumberland Farms," said Jenny Koshes, of Race Brook Elementary PTA. "As we are planning activities for the end of the school year this fundraiser will be a big help."
Cumberland Farms said it aims to raise at least $1,000 for the school.
"We are delighted to give back to the students and help make life a little easier for the Orange community," said Haseotes.
