A December to Remember

One customer who uses MasterCard at Sheetz will win 8,000 gals. of gas

ALTOONA, Pa. -- Sheetz Inc. said it will award an entire tanker of gasoline to a customer who uses a MasterCard at participating Sheetz stores between November 16 and December 28.

Sheetz customers across Pennsylvania, Ohio, West Virginia and North Carolina who use any MasterCard at participating Sheetz stores will automatically be entered to win a tanker of gasoline. The more a customer uses a MasterCard at Sheetz, the more chances they have to win.

"This is the most exciting promotion Sheetz has ever had. Some lucky Sheetz customer [image-nocss] is going to win a tanker truck full of gas! That's 8,000 gallons of gas," said Louie Sheetz, executive vice president of marketing for the retailer. "For the average person who uses 465 gallons of gas a year, it's like getting 17 years worth of gasoline."

Customers can also sign up for the new Sheetz MasterCard to save even more with cash back rewards on every purchase. Earlier in 2005, Sheetz said, it was the nation's first retailer to install MasterCard PayPass system-wide. MasterCard PayPass cardholders tap a PayPass-enabled MasterCard on specially equipped terminals that use a radio frequency (RF) chip to complete transactions. Payment is completed quickly, securely and easily, without swiping a card, fumbling for cash and coins or signing a receipt.

Altoona, Pa.-based Sheetz offers 100%-guaranteed petroleum products at its 319 Mid-Atlantic locations, along with its foodservice and convenience offerings.
