Most stores housing the kiosks are open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. That gives customers the added flexibility of paying on nights and [image-nocss] weekends, when KUB Payment Centers are closed.
The kiosks work like an ATM, with easy-to-follow touchscreens (available in both English and Spanish). To start the payment process, customers can scan their KUB bill or enter their 10-digit account number.
Customers may pay by cash or check at the kiosks. The Paysite kiosk provider, U.S. Payments Inc., charges a convenience fee of $1.95 per transaction.
The kiosks do not give change, but any excess from a customer's kiosk payment will be applied to the customer's account. For example, if a customer inserts $60 to pay a $55 bill, the system will apply a total of $58.05 to the customer's account ($60 less the $1.95 convenience fee paid to the kiosk provider). The customer's current $55 balance is paid, and there is $3.05 remaining in the customer's account to go toward the next month's bill.
KUB is a municipal utility serving Knox and parts of seven adjacent counties and provides electric, gas, water and wastewater services to more than 439,000 customers.
