ExtraMile to Add Blockbuster Express

Kiosks coming to 200 sites

SAN RAMON, Calif. -- About 200 ExtraMile convenience stores on the West Coast will add Blockbuster Express DVD rental kiosks to their sites this summer, according to a report in Home Media Magazine.

More than 9,000 Express kiosks nationwide are owned and operated by Duluth, Ga.-based NCR Corp. under license agreement with Blockbuster Inc.

Blockbuster Express kiosks are located either inside or outside the stores and provide easy access to movies. With a swipe of a credit or debit card, customers can access a wide selection of movies starting at a promotional [image-nocss] price of only $1 per night, per rental. Customers can keep their movies as long as they want and return their selections to any Blockbuster Express kiosk.

The expansion of the kiosk program comes even as Dish Network Corp., which bought the Blockbuster company out of bankruptcy in April, has told NCR Corp. to stop using the Blockbuster brand on its DVD rental vending kiosks.

ExtraMile stores are owned by Chevron Corp., San Ramon, Calif. Chevron explores for, produces and transports crude oil and natural gas; refines, markets and distributes transportation fuels and lubricants; manufactures and sells petrochemical products; generates power and produces geothermal energy; provides energy efficiency solutions; and develops the energy resources of the future, including biofuels.

NCR, Duluth, Ga., is a global technology company. Its assisted- and self-service solutions and comprehensive support services address the needs of retail, financial, travel, healthcare, hospitality, entertainment, gaming and public sector organizations in more than 100 countries.
