"The stores will offer fuel pumps and a selection of high-quality fresh products for immediate consumption and 'take-home'," Tracy Pawelski, spokesperson for Giant, told the newspaper. "We hope to provide our customers the best combination of convenience and value along with the right on-the-go selection. The added value for Giant customers is that they [image-nocss] are able to use their Giant BonusCard and their Gas Extra Rewards for even greater savings.
"These convenience stores are sort of a natural extension of Giant's success selling gas," Pawelski told The Patriot-News in a separate report.
Site plans have been submitted for an initial Giant To Go location, said the report, and in October, plans were submitted for a second Manheim Township location.
The chain opened its prototype in Manheim Township last September, reported CSP Daily News.
Giant Food Stores operates stores in Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia, and West Virginia under the names of Giant Food Stores, Martin's Food Markets and FoodSource. Giant and Martin's currently operate 64 gas stations across Pennsylvania, Maryland, West Virginia and Virginia. Those stations are located in proximity to the main grocery stores.
