Gulf Oil, Billaway Partner on Rewards Program

Consumers can reduce electricity bills, earn free gasoline

FRAMINGHAM, Mass. -- Gulf Oil LP has launched Power Points, a customer loyalty program designed to directly reduce consumers' electricity bills and earn free gasoline at Gulf gas stations. The energy company has enlisted Billaway as the loyalty platform provider to enable Gulf Electricity customers to convert qualified spending on everyday purchases to these rewards.

Gulf Oil is offering the program to Gulf Electricity residential and small commercial customers throughout five of the six New England states and parts of New York. Qualified purchases can be made at more than 25,000 retail locations and thousands of online websites.

Customers of Gulf Electricity can sign up at www.gulfelectricity.com/Power-Points, and their account is immediately loaded with $10 to jumpstart their savings. They can earn additional rewards by referring friends and family members to the program through the Power Points portal; $10 will be added to their account for each referral who signs up. The program is flexible and points can be converted to reduce Gulf Electricity bills or to earn $50 Gulf Cards for the purchase of gas or other items at any of the more than 2,500 Gulf gas stations.

"The Billaway solution was the best in the market for Gulf. Millions of consumers already know and trust Gulf's brand name from our 110 year history, so we wanted to partner with a company we could trust to provide an outstanding program for our customers," said Gulf Oil's senior vice president and chief marketing officer Rick Dery.

"Billaway has worked closely with Gulf Oil for almost a year to make sure the program met the standards their customers have grown to expect," said Paul Harkins, Billaway's CEO. "Even though we have hundreds of companies utilizing the Billaway reward platform to enhance their relationships with their customers, Gulf represents a leap for Billaway in providing free gasoline to Gulf Oil customers by converting their qualified everyday spending. We could not be more excited about our partnership with Gulf."

Billaway is a loyalty and engagement platform for businesses. The Billaway platform converts qualified everyday spending into a direct reduction of a bill or a direct credit to a consumer's account. The program aggregates rebates and incentives from more than 28,000 retail locations and online websites. Billaway's unique intellectual property, Utilization of Rewards to Reduce a Commodity Bill, makes it possible for any company to offer a customized program to their consumers.

More than 350 clients use the Billaway platform in industries including waste, health and fitness, grocery, health care, gasoline and child care.
