Heartland, a Princeton, N.J.-based provider of credit, debit and prepaid card processing, payroll, check management and payments solutions, announced the acquisition in a conference call with analysts on November 4.
"Chockstone's strong solution provides added value to business owners who want to improve and maximize their customer relationships," said [image-nocss] Robert O. Carr, chairman and chief executive officer of Heartland Payment Systems.
Portland, Ore.-based Chockstone's loyalty platform uses real-time analysis of guest behavior to create targeted point-of-sale-based promotions.
Chockstone's loyalty marketing and gift card solutions are used by leading brands in more than 65,000 restaurants, convenience stores and other retail locations in North America-including Subway, Tully's Coffee and Plaid Pantry.
"As we looked to continue to round out the suite of products and capabilities that Heartland can offer to the merchant community, we have long felt that having our own gift and loyalty capability made a lot of sense," Heartland president and chief financial officer Robert H.B. Baldwin Jr. told Digital Transactions News.
Heartland is the founding supporter of The Merchant Bill of Rights, a public advocacy initiative that educates merchants about fair credit and debit card processing practices.
