Irving partnered with CHaD in 2003, and Fuel the Care has since benefited thousands of families throughout New Hampshire and Vermont.
Dr. Steven Paris, M.D., [image-nocss] medical director at CHaD Manchester, said during the announcement that Fuel the Care allows families to be together during this stressful time. "Taking care of children is taking care of the whole family," said Paris. "So the Irving program is really a program from Heaven. It allows us to treat our patient's appropriately."
Dr. Pamela M. Hofley, M.D., is CHaD's southern region medical director. Hofley said CHaD serves two rural states, New Hampshire and Vermont, and at times families have to ask the question "how can I afford to get to the doctor." Fuel the Care, she said, helps answer that question. The program is vital, Hofley also said, because the "most frequent patients we have are babies in neonatal care or haematology."
Irving Oil spokesperson Lars Trodson said the company "has been honored to be associated with the staff at [ChaD] these past six years. The hard work is done here. When we hear the kinds of stories like the one Donna Vega told us today, we're very moved to be a part of their lives."
