WESTMINSTER, Md. -- Running throughout the month of February, Jiffy Mart locations in Carroll County, Md., will participate in St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital's "Boot Cancer" campaign. St. Jude is the world's premier center for the research and treatment of cancer and other catastrophic childhood diseases.
Customers are able to purchase a boot symbol for $1, sign it and have it hung at the location where it was purchased. The money raised will go directly to St. Jude's.
Last year, each of the four Jiffy Mart stores surpassed their goal of $780 each, and [image-nocss] with an additional contribution of $500 from Jiffy Mary corporate, raised a total of $4,597.
Because of generous donations such as these, no family at St. Jude's ever pays for treatments not covered by insurance and families without insurance are never asked to pay. Their mission is to find cures for children with cancer and other catastrophic diseases through research and treatment, and St. Jude has treated children from all 50 states and from around the world.
Jiffy Mart is a division of Westminster, Md.-based Tevis Oil, and operates convenience stores in Carroll County, including Westminster, Finksburg and Hampstead.
