Kangaroo Express Bowls Over Charlotte, Nashville

Convenience retailer to sponsor Belk Bowl, Music City Bowl

CARY, N.C. -- Southeastern convenience retailer The Pantry Inc. has announced that its Kangaroo Express chain will sponsor the Belk Bowl on Dec. 27 and the Franklin American Mortgage Music City Bowl on Dec. 31.

"As a proud sponsor of NC State, Duke and UNC sports for the past couple years, we are ecstatic to follow the Wolfpack and Blue Devils as they make their way to the bowl games," said John Fisher, senior vice president of marketing, merchandising and restaurant operations for The Pantry. "We will be cheering on our home Triangle teams as they represent the ACC."

The Duke University Blue Devils, representing the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC), will face the Cincinnati Bearcats, co-champions of the Big East Conference, at the Belk Bowl. The 11th annual Belk Bowl, played in Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, kicks off on Thursday, Dec. 27 at 6:30 p.m. EST.

The North Carolina State University Wolfpack, representing the ACC, will face the Vanderbilt Commodores, representing the Southeastern Conference (SEC), in the Music City Bowl. The 15th annual Music City Bowl, played in LP Field in Nashville, kicks off on Monday, Dec. 31 at 11:00 a.m. CST.

Both bowl games will be televised on ESPN.

Based in Cary, N.C., The Pantry is a leading independently operated convenience store chain in the southeastern United States and one of the largest independently operated c-store chains in the country.
