Kum & Go Celebrates 50th With Summer of '59 Promo

And Chevron announces Summer Road Trip Giveaway

WEST DES MOINES, Iowa -- Starting June 1, Kum & Go began offering customers the chance to win more than $100,000 this summer to celebrate its 50th anniversary. As part of its "Summer of 59" promotion, Kum & Go will award 59 winners a $1,000 Kum & Go gift card and one winner will take the grand prize of $50,000.

In-store customers will receive a unique code on their receipt when they make a purchase at Kum & Go locations. This code can be used to enter to win at kumandgo.com. Five $1,000 gift card winners [image-nocss] will be selected and announced every Monday throughout the summer, and the $50,000 grand prize winner will be announced on Sept. 1, 2009.

"In addition to the cash giveaway, we are also offering our customers 32-oz. drinks for the special price of 59 cents. The special prices and prizes are a way for us to say thank you, and we look forward to another 50 years of community partnership," said Kevin W. Krause, senior vice president of marketing.

West Des Moines, Iowa-based Kum & Go has more than 400 convenience stores in 12 states (Iowa, Arkansas, Colorado, Minnesota, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, North Dakota, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Wyoming and Wisconsin).

Separately, Chevron Corp. has announced the Summer Road Trip Giveaway, a national promotion featuring more than 40,000 prizes, including Chevron gasoline for a year, hotel stays, GPS units and five new cars. Beginning yesterday at participating U.S. Chevron stations, people can play an Online Instant Win game and participate in the virtual Chevron Car Hunt contest with the chance to drive home a 2009 Chevrolet Malibu LS. The promotion runs June 1 through July 12, 2009.

People can enter the Summer Road Trip Giveaway by going to a participating Chevron station, getting a game card and registering to play online at http://www.chevrongiveaway.com. After entering their game card code, winners will be notified via email if they have won. More than 1,000 online instant-win prizes will be available daily. Prizes include three 2009 Chevrolet Malibu LSs, 39 chances to win Chevron gas for a year, 2,000 TomTom GPS units and 5,000 one-night stays at participating La Quinta Inns & Suites.

The one-time registration on the website also gives participants an opportunity to enter the Chevron Car Hunt contest, where participants use online clues to locate hidden Chevron Cars in select cities, and then collect these virtual Chevron Cars by retrieving the car name and unique code online. The player who finds the most Chevron Cars in the least amount of time in a contest period is the winner of the grand prize, a 2009 Chevrolet Corvette 1LT Coupe.
