Kum & Go Celebrates New SW Mo. Stores With Harley Giveaway

And ExxonMobil running card promotion

WEST DES MOINES, Iowa -- In celebration of the grand opening of its newest stores in southwest Missouri, Kum & Go LC is giving away a 2009 Harley Davidson Nightster motorcycle. "The Harley Davidson giveaway is a perfect opportunity for us to get to know our newest customers," said Meggan Kring, director of communications.

Customers can register to win the Harley by visiting any Greater Springfield Kum & Go location from May 1-15, 2009, with no purchase necessary. Ozarks Coca Cola and Dr. Pepper Bottling Co. donated the motorcycle for Kum & Go's grand opening [image-nocss] promotion.

Kum & Go agreed to purchase 37 Cody's Convenience Stores on February 9, giving it 71 stores and nearly 300 associates in southwest Missouri. Kum & Go has acquired Cody's locations in Battlefield, Bolivar, Clever, Fair Grove, Hollister, Joplin, Monett, Neosho, Nixa, Republic, Rogersville, Springfield, Waynesville and Webb City, Mo. Kum & Go also assumed ownership of Cody's eight car washes.

With 432 stores in 12 states and more than 3,600 associates throughout the Midwest, West Des Moines, Iowa-based Kum & Go is the fifth largest privately held convenience store chain in the United States, it said.

The family-owned company began in 1959 in Hampton, Iowa, and has grown to more than 400 convenience stores in 12 states (Iowa, Arkansas, Colorado, Minnesota, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, North Dakota, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Wyoming and Wisconsin).

In addition to a wide selection of products, Kum & Go provides customers a proprietary mix of products under the Hiland brand name. Other proprietary product offerings include Java Ridge Premium Coffee, Napa Creek and Sea Ridge wines, Go Fresh Market sandwiches, Nuclear energy drinks and Nutri2o nutraceutical waters.

And in other news, Exxon Mobil Corp. recently announced that it is giving customers the chance to win $2,000 each day through the "ExxonMobil Personal Card $2,000 Daily Prize Giveaway". From April 1 through June 30, a new winner will be selected every day to receive a $2,000 check.

"This sweepstakes is a great opportunity to remind our customers about the advantages of the ExxonMobil Personal Card for their fuel purchases," said Ben Soraci, U.S. retail sales director for ExxonMobil.

To win, customers make a purchase with an ExxonMobil Personal Card at any Exxon or Mobil station, or by applying for a new account. Each purchase qualifies as one entry, so multiple purchases increase the chances of winning.

Nearly 10,000 Exxon and Mobil locations nationwide will participate in the contest.
