As board chairman of the Community Foundation of Greater Des Moines in 2010, Kyle Krause helped the organization exceed significant donation goals, [image-nocss] and assets increased to more than $165 million . He also helped jumpstart the $17 million "We Believe" capital campaign for Dowling Catholic High School in West Des Moines.
Sharon Krause served on the United Way of Central Iowa's Women's Leadership Initiative Advocacy Committee working to support early childhood learning opportunities. She also has been an advocate for the rights of women and their families.
In the past year, the report said, the couple pledged $250,000 to Mercy Medical Center's Million Little Reasons campaign, $25,000 to Iowa State University's College of Engineering Krause Scholarship and $60,000 to Sacred Heart's Light for Tomorrow campaign.
"Being with all of you is contagious," Sharon Krause told the crowd of 200 gathered in downtown Des Moines for the ceremony, according to the report. "It's really hard to say no to this community."
The Krauses received a Steuben "Star Stream" crystal sculpture, the newspaper added.
