Love’s Launches Tire Inflation System

TirePass designed to catch potential problems, prevent out-of-service violations

OKLAHOMA CITY -- A new system designed to inflate tires automatically while drivers fuel offers fleets and drivers a way to stay on the road longer by catching potential problems before they occur. Love’s TirePass is now available at 75 Love’s Travel Stops & Country Stores locations across the country.

“Customers have been asking for more tire maintenance services that don’t add time to their stops,” said Dan Jensen, director of tire sales and service for Love’s. “TirePass provides a crucial service without tacking on downtime. It’s a safety tool that can keep customers on the road by detecting problems ahead of time. The best part is it’s all done while the driver fuels.”

A trained technician hooks up truck or trailer tires to the automatic inflators stationed around the vehicle in the designated TirePass fueling lane. While the driver fuels, the technician measures and records tread depth and pressure and inflates the tires to the desired pressure if necessary. The use of Flow-Through valve caps maximizes drivers’ experience.

All drivers receive immediate reports showing the status of their tires. Fleets have the capability to receive monthly reports with analyses on all assessments performed throughout the month.

“Customers can use TirePass as a tool to help them monitor tire life,” said Jensen. “Understanding how tires are wearing will help drivers and fleet managers learn how to maximize use.”

Fleets and drivers who take advantage of the new technology prior to The Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance’s International Roadcheck, which takes place June 2-4, may be able to avoid tire- and wheel-related out-of-service violations. Last year, tires and wheels accounted for nearly 14% of OOS violations.

Love’s continues to offer 24-hour roadside assistance and additional tire and wheel services at more than 210 Love’s Truck Tire Care locations. Love’s offers light mechanical services at more than 170 locations and is committed to adding light mechanical to more travel stops. Customers can rely on trained mechanics for electrical repairs, belts and hoses, fleet and Department of Transportation (DOT) inspections, brake repairs and other problems that can result in out-of-service orders.

TirePass will be available at all Love’s locations with truck tire care centers by August.
