MACS in POP Deal With GSP

Management services leverage site profile information to minimize waste at each store

RICHMOND, Va. -- Mid-Atlantic Convenience Stores (MACS) has entered into an agreement with GSP a leading provider of retail services, for GSP to provide point-of-purchase (POP) management services for all of its stores.

"MACS is positioned for growth and GSP, with their extensive knowledge of the retail industry and comprehensive POP capabilities, is the chosen retail solutions provider to assist us in that growth," said Derek Gaskins, MACS senior vice president of marketing. "We … made our decision based on GSP's G7 Master Printer status, their commitment to the environment and their ability to provide a full spectrum of cost-effective POP management services and solutions."

GSP's POP services and solutions include POP engineering, print, fabrication and fulfillment services claiming a 99.8% accuracy rate (based on one million pieces per month), local account support, logistics and budget management and store-specific POP placement guides.

GSP's POP team delivers store-level results by providing POP program and software solutions that streamline store communications to help ensure in-store execution of the retail strategy.

"We will help MACS ensure maximum POP effectiveness--at each of their store locations," said Kevin Farley, GSP's vice president of marketing. "We will also leverage site profile information to print only what is required at each store and nothing more, resulting in a 20% to 30% savings by not overproducing printed elements that end up wasted at the store. We take great pride in the work we do with our retailer partners, and we're happy to have MACS as a valued GSP customer."

Both MACS and GSP are focused on minimizing the overall environmental impact of the various POP elements, while continuing to improve the level of service to MACS' customers.

Clearwater, Fla.-based GSP helps consumer-facing businesses transform their growth strategies into store-level results. Its site intelligence software optimizes planning and helps enable successful store-specific retail execution. Its survey services ensure that retailers know the details of every store to improve capital expenditure decisions, store understanding and store support. GSP's design team provides graphic and industrial design solutions tailor-made for retail results. And its POP management team leverages expertise in design, production, fulfillment and data management to maximize return on in-store marketing efforts.

Based in Richmond, Va., MACS is a leading convenience store operator in Maryland and Virginia. With a network of approximately 300 company-owned and dealer locations, in addition to its wholesale fuel distribution network, MACS is the largest ExxonMobil fuel marketer in the United States.
