CINCINNATI -- Procter & Gamble Co. (P&G) plans to roll out its Mr. Clean Performance Car Wash to several more locations in the Cincinnati area, reported The Cincinnati Enquirer. Results at the existing two car washes have been so strong that P&G is looking for more sites les than a year after the company's first car wash opened.
"We rolled out two to learn the market. Those have done well. Anytime anything does well, you want to look at options to make it better," Jeff LeRoy, P&G external relations manager, told the newspaper. "We are in discussions with several entrepreneurs [image-nocss] who are interested in being part of the expansion."
The car washes build around the brand Mr. Clean—the grinning, bald, muscled genie. The brand is 50 years old this yea, said the report. Mr. Clean Car Washes mix high-tech car cleaning with the latest in customer convenience. Waiting areas have free wireless Internet, flat-screen TVs, a coffee bar serving P&G's Millstone brand and a convenience store.
Along with beverages and snack items, the c-store offers a selection of greeting cards, stationery, books, small gift items and car-care items including a selection of Mr. Clean AutoDry Carwash products.
According to the Enquirer, the facility includes high-pressure and soft-touch washing systems, a special tire-shine device, a process to reduce minerals in the water that produce water spots and 11 blowers generating 165 horsepower to dry the vehicle as it exits.
For kids, the washes feature the Sud Soaker and Radical Rinse stations. These stations allow kids to control remote spray nozzles that shoot colored suds and high-pressure rinse water at the cars as they roll by.
The first $3.3 million car wash opened in June in Mason, Ohio, employs about 50 people and offers car washes ranging in price from $8 to $24, the report said. Detailing and other options can add to that price. A second car wash opened in Evendale, Ohio, in October.Members help make our journalism possible.
