Murphy USA's March Bracket Madness

Awarding free gasoline for year to four regional winners

EL DORADO, Ark. -- Murphy USA has announced its 2011 Murphy USA Bracket Challenge, a competition to predict the results of the 2011 NCAA Division I Men's College Basketball Tournament with four winners receiving a year's worth of free gasoline.

On March 13, 2011, the selection committee will seed the qualifying college basketball teams of the tournament. Participants will attempt to select the winners of each game. They will earn points by correctly predicting the winning team in each game. The number of points awarded for each correct pick will increase with each round [image-nocss] of the tournament.

The competition will run through the final game of the tournament, scheduled for April 4, 2011.

Registered users may sign up any time by visiting the www.MurphyUSABracketChallenge.com website prior to the start of the tournament on March 15, 2011. Brackets will be filled on March 14, 2011, and posted online under the "My Picks" link on the contest site. Picks must be submitted by 9:00 a.m. Central Time on March 15, 2011.

This marks the third year that Murphy USA is offering the Tournament Bracket Challenge as a free-entry contest for its customers. The Murphy USA Bracket Challenge pits contestants against each other from four regions of the country, with one winner in each area receiving the grand prize--a year's worth of free gasoline (actual retail value is $1,800). Smaller prizes may also be awarded after each round, based upon the number of points scored in each individual round.

Promotions like the Bracket Challenge are a way for the company to show appreciation for their customers' continued business, the company said.
