Nice N Easy Recognizes Long-Term Employees

Thirty years with a 31-year-old chain

CANASTOTA, N.Y. -- Nice N Easy Grocery Shoppes recently recognized several employees who achieved important milestones at a Service Awards Banquet held at The Rusty Rail in Canastota.

President and CEO John MacDougall congratulated the employees being honored as employees gathered to celebrate a total of 345 years of service. The Canastota, NY-based chain recognized 48 employees that have been employed for five, 10, 15, 20 and even 30 years with Nice N Easy Grocery Shoppes.

The evening's emcee, Jeffery Ginn, director of human resources, has been with Nice N Easy Grocery Shoppes for 19 years. Ginn reminded attendees what historical events took place during the year each of the honorees were. Among those honored were:

  • Melissa Tupper, assistant manager at the Star Lake store, celebrating 10 years of service.
  • Jared Sturtevant, director of marketing. Fifteen years ago, he started as a part-time store associate, worked in several stores, and was promoted to director of marketing just last year. "Jared was exceptional in every level of the jobs he held over the years,” said MacDougall. “He is committed and takes on any challenge and succeeds.”
  • Ione Hewitt, manager at the Phoenix, N.Y., Nice N Easy, was recognized for her 20 years of service. "She is a shining light at Nice N Easy Grocery Shoppes," MacDougall said.
