Pantry Partners with Easter Seals UCP N.C. & Va.

Retailer sponsoring group's Walk With Me fundraising event
CARY, N.C. -- The Pantry Inc. is a sponsor of Easter Seals UCP North Carolina & Virginia's Walk With Me, a fundraising event the agency hosts across North Carolina and Virginia.

"We are thrilled to have The Pantry as a leading sponsor of our Walk With Me events," said Bob Frazier, chief development officer for Easter Seals UCP. "Walk With Me provides an opportunity for community members to honor individuals and families we serve while learning more about the programs Easter Seals UCP provides. The support of businesses like The Pantry helps our shared communities become [image-nocss] better, more welcoming areas for children and adults with disabilities."

Easter Seals UCP expects more than 2,500 participants to register for the upcoming Walk With Me events. Each participant will be paired with an honorary ambassador, a child or adult currently receiving services from Easter Seals UCP. On walk day, participants are able to walk alongside their honorary ambassador.

"The Pantry and its employees are delighted to be part of the amazing work of the Easter Seals UCP Walk With Me program. Thank you for the terrific job you do helping children and adults with disabilities," said Jim Semotan, vice president of human resources for The Pantry.

The six Walk With Me events are expected to raise almost $300,000 to support the programs and services of Easter Seals UCP. Walks will be held in Charlotte, Greensboro, Raleigh and Wilmington, N.C.; and Richmond and Salem, Va.

Raleigh-based Easter Seals UCP North Carolina & Virginia is a lifelong partner to families managing disabilities and mental health challenges. The nonprofit serves more than 17,000 individuals and their families annually through an array of services. Easter Seals UCP enhances the quality of life for individuals and maximizes their potential for engaging in their communities.
