Rutter's raises more than $17,000 for Newspapers in Education
YORK, Pa. -- Rutter's Farm Stores raised more than $17,000 for York's Newspapers in Education program by donating five cents from every hot beverage sold in its York County stores from October 4 to October 31, the company said.

Since 2004, Rutter's and its customers have contributed more than $118,000 to Newspapers in Education, which provides newspapers and curriculum materials to teachers and students in all 16 public school districts in York County.

NIEonline.comprovides online lesson plans and other innovative [image-nocss] materials for use on Newspapers in Education websites to provide new ways for teachers to use print and online newspapers in their classrooms. These resources help build repeat traffic to Newspapers in Education websites and provide greater exposure to programs and special offers.

Newspapers in Education is headquartered in Troy, Mich.

Family-owned and third-generation-managed, York, Pa.-based Rutter's operates 56 convenience stores in York, Adams, Cumberland, Dauphin, Franklin and Lancaster counties in Pennsylvania.
