Registration Begins for NACS Show 2006

Annual trade show & expo scheduled for Oct. 8-10

ALEXANDRIA, Va. -- Convenience store and petroleum-marketing professionals can register for the industry's most comprehensive event, the NACS Show 2006, beginning this week.

Attendees can register and secure housing online by visiting www.nacsshow.com. As the NACS Show draws closer, the site also will feature the latest information on exhibitors, new products, speakers, educational sessions and networking events.

The NACS Show 2006 will take place Oct. 8-11 at the Las Vegas Convention Center in Las Vegas. Full registration, [image-nocss] which includes admission to General Sessions, educational session, the expo and the Welcome Reception, is $275 for NACS members, $425 for all other retailers. This rate is good through Aug. 15. Other rates apply for one-day registration or expo-only registration. Exhibitor registration will be available on or about May 1.

We have a terrific housing package this year with hotels in a variety of price categories and amenities, said NACS' senior vice president of events, marketing & supplier relations Jane Berzan. We encourage you to submit housing requests as early as possible to ensure that you secure rooms at your preferred choice. NACS has negotiated room rates with several hotels that provide competitive rates. Only hotels within the NACS Show room block give attendees access to convenient shuttle bus transportation to the convention center.

By registering online and as early as possible attendees also receive the maximum discounted rate available. Plus, they can save time and avoid long lines by receiving their badges and Show materials in advance of the convention, added Berzan.

Once again, the NACS Show will be organized into six sections petroleum equipment & services, merchandise, technology, store operations, candy/snacks, and foodservice equipment/programs reflecting how retailers and marketers shop for their businesses and making it easier for retailers to navigate the floor and find what they want.

Previously announced is the new Business Strategy focus on the second day of the NACS Show, Tuesday, Oct. 10. Business Strategy Day will feature high-level business programming, which will kick off with several concurrent sessions on strategic topics such as branding and strategic planning. These sessions will be followed by a General Session featuring a discussion on business strategy led by a high-level CEO and then NACS' annual Ideas 2 Go presentation.

The repositioning of the middle day of the show to focus exclusively on our business is a key enhancement to this year's program, said NACS Convention Committee chairman Sam Turner, CEO of Calfee Co. of Dalton, Inc. Bringing in business leaders we can learn from and then seeing additional ideas in practice in Ideas 2 Go will help retailers think strategically about their business and how they can leverage new ideas to enhance their own format.

Also new this year is the creation of entertainment/education sessions on the show floor. To respond to the ever-increasing interest and focus on emerging consumers, NACS will feature a special panel of young adults who will present their views on the newest, most innovative products on the expo floor in two panel discussions to be held on the afternoon of Tuesday, Oct. 10, and on Wednesday morning, Oct. 11, in the merchandise section of the expo floor. A second show floor session will be located in the foodservice equipment/programs area and will feature live cooking competition and demonstrations.

In addition to the opening of online registration on April 3, www.nacsshow.com has news, educational session handouts, photos and other information on the NACS Show 2005 and preliminary information about the NACS Show 2006.
