YORK, Pa. -- Rutter's Farm Stores has further enhanced its mobile app by providing users with access to the day's winning lottery numbers and exclusive lottery offers, the result of a new partnership with the Pennsylvania Lottery Commission.
The integration of the lottery's RSS feed into Rutter's mobile app allows the day's winning lottery numbers to be automatically updated to the app as soon as they are reported by the lottery.
The partnership also opens the doors for customers to redeem exclusive offers from the lottery at Rutter's locations using a mobile device. Beginning Jan. 30, Rutter's customers can get a free $3 Powerball ticket with Power Play with a purchase of a $5 instant ticket at Rutter's.
Rutter's sent a push notification to mobile app users who have opted into the chain's deal alerts informing them about the promotion. The notification provided the instructions for customers to follow in order to participate. Once the steps have been completed, the app sends a bar coded mobile coupon to the customer's mobile device, which is valid only at Rutter's and redeemable by scanning the device's screen.
"We continually develop our mobile app to meet the changing needs and expectations of our customers. The addition of the lottery drawing results and offers is another way we can provide our customers with convenience and value by giving them the information and the offers that they want, delivered right to their fingertips in a way they love," said Rutter's chief customer officer, Derek Gaskins.
York, Pa.-based Rutter's has been active in the community since its beginning in 1921. Under the third generation of family leadership, Rutter's operates 59 convenience stores throughout central Pennsylvania.
