YORK, Pa. -- Rutter's Farm Stores has contributed $3,000 to three community organizations in Shippensburg, whereas reported in CSP Daily Newsits newest convenience store opened September 1. Rutter's held a ribbon-cutting and check-presentation event yesterday.
We're excited to return to Shippensburg and Cumberland County after a 17-year-absence, said Scott Hartman, president of Rutter's. We're proud once again to be part of the community and supporting worthwhile organizations such as these.
The recipients:
Shippensburg Area [image-nocss] EMS: $1,000 toward the cost of purchasing a hydraulic stretcher. King's Kettle Food Pantry: $1,000 for the purchase of food. The pantry serves low-income families in the Shippensburg School District. Vigilant Hose Co.: $1,000 toward the purchase of hose and nozzles and paying off debt on a recently purchased fire truck.Rutter's opened a 5,200-sq.-ft. convenience store in Shippensburg Township, Pa., representing a return to Cumberland County after a 17-year absence. The new, 24-hour store represents the most current in Rutter's store design, with entrances and gasoline pumps on two sides; 16 fueling positions will dispense gasoline, diesel and kerosene under a canopy.
Inside, the store will offer Rutter's proprietary Famous Express Deli and Famous Express Grill, an L-shaped foodservice island with upscale self-serve coffee at one end, seating for 12 to 16 people and a no-surcharge M&T Bank ATM.
Shippensburg is the third new Rutter's in 2006, the company said. In March, Rutter's opened new stores in Fawn Grove and New Freedom, York County, Pa.
Family-owned and third generation-managed, York, Pa.-based Rutter's operates 51 convenience stores in Adams, Cumberland, Franklin, Lancaster and York counties in Pennsylvania.
