Total contributions of $200,000 in 2005

YORK, Pa. -- The Rutter's Cos. has awarded contributions totaling $86,000 to four charitable efforts in the York, Pa., area.

It's a great feeling for all of us at Rutter's to make these contributions and to continue a tradition of supporting worthwhile causes in our community, said Scott Hartman, president of Rutter's Farm Stores.

The contributions include:

$1,000 to the family of Tucker Haas, a five-year-old cancer patient, to help pay for medical costs. Rutter's matched the monies raised for Tucker at the Oct. 28 Central [image-nocss] York High School football game. Tucker is the son of Chad and Lisa Haas. $10,000 to the Panther Foundation, a nonprofit group that raises money to support scholarships and other programs of Central York School District. $25,000 to the Junior Achievement of South Central Pennsylvania to support its Exchange City in York, which will be visited by more than 7,000 students during the current school year. Students learn about American enterprise by working in a life-sized replica of a city that comprises 14 businesses. $50,000 to Logos Academy to use for student scholarships. Logos Academy is a nonprofit, independent school dedicated to serving the educational needs of York's inner-city children.

In 2005, Rutter's will make total charitable contributions of approximately $200,000.

Family-owned and third generation-managed, York-based Rutter's Cos. is comprised of Rutter's Farm Stores, Rutter's Dairy and M&G Realty, a real-estate holding company.
