Stripes Campaign Contributes $456,000 to Children's Miracle Network

Funds from sale of balloon icons will benefit 12 hospitals in three states
COPRUS CHRUSTI, Texas -- Stripes convenience stores raised a total of $456,000 for children's hospitals during its Children's Miracle Network fundraising campaign March 8 through April 4 in all 521 stores across Texas, New Mexico and Oklahoma. Stripes asked customers to purchase a $1 Miracle Balloon icon to raise funds for Children's Miracle Network, which raises funds for more than 170 pediatric hospitals.

The icons were attached to coupons, providing customers an additional incentive to make the $1 purchase. Funds raised exceeded Stripes 2009 total of $386,686 by almost 18%.[image-nocss]

"These amazing results are a reflection of the generosity of our customers and our team members who deeply care about children's health," said Steve DeSutter, Stripes president and CEO. "Stripes store team members put a lot of intensity into these fundraising campaigns because they understand the positive impact that our participation brings to our communities. We are very proud of them as again they have set another all time high in this year's Children's Miracle Network campaign."

Like all Children's Miracle Network fundraisers, the funds raised from Stripe's four-week campaign will help create miracles by funding medical care, research and education that saves and improves the lives of 17 million children treated at Children's Miracle Network hospitals each year.

Stripes has been a partner of Children's Miracle Network since 1997, raising funds for children's hospitals through different fundraising campaigns.
