WESTLAKE, Ohio --TravelCenters of America LLC has updated its free TruckSmart Mobile App. The latest feature is the mobile version of the Reserve-It! Parking program, which allows professional drivers to reserve an available parking space at any TA or Petro travel center location up to 30 days in advance and make payment for it using a credit card through the app.
“Reserve-It! was created by TravelCenters to help professional drivers increase their efficiency and productivity, and to help them ensure they can find truckstop parking at the end of their workday. Adding functions to our TruckSmart app makes Reserve-It! more convenient than ever before,” said Tom O’Brien, president and CEO of TravelCenters of America.
The other features that have vaulted TruckSmart to be one of the top apps in the industry remain, including access to UltraONE account balances and recent transactions, fuel prices, shower and parking availability, maintenance services schedule queuing, store specials and RoadSquad anywhere, anytime, emergency roadside service.
TruckSmart is available for Android and iPhone smartphones through Google Play or Apple App Store. Drivers without an iPhone or Android can access the app through any HTML5 browser at www.trucksmartapp.com.
Separately, TravelCenters of America has signed a deal with Boston-based LinkeDrive Inc., a provider of mobile solutions for the transportation industry, for an installation and servicing partnership.
Using LinkeDrive’s cloud-based platform, PedalCoach provides real-time, adaptive feedback for improving fuel efficiency and safety. The patented solution’s proprietary algorithms set a unique fueling target for each driver communicated in a red-yellow-green interface that allows drivers to earn “points” for achieving optimal behaviors and patterns. And linking that to pay-for-performance programs enables drivers to be financially compensated on their ability to meet pre-established goals related to performance and safety.
Through this agreement, TA Truck Service technicians at TA and Petro locations will be trained on the installation and servicing of LinkeDrive’s PedalCoach mobile application at the headquarters of TravelCenters of America in Westlake, Ohio. The TA technicians will assist truckers with new PedalCoach installations, service or upgrades at TA Truck Service Centers in the United States and Canada.
TravelCenters of America conducts business in 43 states and Canada, principally under the TA and Petro Stopping Centers travel center brands and the Minit Mart convenience store brand.
