TA Opens Additional StayFit Free Fitness Centers

Dallas location is travel center network's 40th

WESTLAKE, Ohio -- TravelCenters of America has opened the 40th StayFit fitness center in its TA and Petro Stopping Centers network at TA Dallas South, located at I-20, Exit 472/I-635 in Dallas.

All StayFit fitness rooms are free to professional drivers who carry the UltraONE Driver Rewards card.

"Professional drivers simply need to swipe their UltraONE card to enter the fitness room," said Tom O'Brien, President and CEO of TravelCenters. "Getting and staying healthy isn't easy, but hopefully we are making it a little easier for drivers by offering forty fitness centers nationwide, and making them free to use," O'Brien added.

StayFit fitness rooms include dual adjustable pulley weight training resistance equipment or adjustable sit-up board; elliptical cross-trainer for cardio workouts; and recumbent bike for cardio workouts.

StayFit fitness rooms also have weight scales, workout mats, wall-mounted TVs and fans.

TravelCenters launched its StayFit program in early 2011, and continues to expand it. The program includes "better-for-you" food options in restaurants and travel stores for drivers while they are on the road. Additionally, there are a combined 120 mapped walking trails at TA and Petro locations nationwide, seven locations have basketball hoops, and all locations have pet exercise areas.

The 41st StayFit fitness room is opening at the Petro Stopping Centers in Carnesville, Ga., this week. More will be added soon, the company said.

TravelCenters of America LLC, Westlake, Ohio, is a leading travel center business in 41 states and Canada operating under the TA and Petro Stopping Centers brands. With 240 locations off interstate highway exits, TA and Petro offer customers diesel and gasoline fueling services, nearly 500 full-service and quick-service restaurants, 24-hour convenience stores, heavy-truck maintenance services, RoadSquad emergency roadside service, electronic communication (WiFi), and many other services, all within large, high-traffic facilities.
