TA Opens Medical Clinic at Ohio Location

Seville site is first Statcare facility in travel center's network

WESTLAKE, Ohio -- TravelCenters of America LLC recently opened the first onsite Statcare medical clinic within the TA and Petro Stopping Centers-branded travel center network. The Statcare clinic, operated by Family Statcare of Northeast Ohio LLC, is located at the TA Lodi travel center in Seville, Ohio.

The clinic offers professional drivers and the motoring public quick and easy access to board-certified nurse practitioners, who can diagnose and treat a variety of health problems. The clinic also offers DOT physicals required for professional drivers. It expects that drug screening services will be available by the end of the year.

The Statcare clinic at the TA in Seville (Lodi) sees patients on a walkup basis--no appointments are necessary. The nurse practitioners are eligible to write prescriptions, which can be filled and picked up on site. Statcare is open Monday through Friday, 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.

"Many drivers spend a great deal of time on the road," said Tom O'Brien, president and CEO of TravelCenters of America. "It's difficult for them to find time to attend to healthcare when they are home. At the Statcare clinic, drivers can see a healthcare provider both for chronic conditions, such as a diabetes or high blood pressure, as well as for a routine DOT physical. Having the clinic on site isn't just a convenience, but a much needed service."

This Statcare clinic is one of 15 medical-related clinics within the TA and Petro Stopping Center network.

Statcare is accredited by the Joint Commission for the Ambulatory Healthcare and provides the highest standards of care. Additionally, Statcare keeps all patient records electronically, so they can be easily accessed on the patient's next visit or sent to a primary care physician. Statcare accepts most major health care insurance plans, as well as self-pay patients. Statcare endeavors to be more affordable and more convenient than hospital emergency rooms or physician offices.

Family Statcare of Northeast Ohio LLC (FSC) does business under the Statcare name at TravelCenters of America locations. FSC also operates four other clinics under the ExpressCare and Family Statcare names in various other Ohio locations. Statcare provides medical care for illnesses, healthcare screenings, testing, vaccinations, drug screenings and DOT physicals in clean, comfortable and relaxing clinic settings for professional drivers, the motoring public and others.
