Tanks From the Twins'

Team discounting tickets based on gas prices
MINNEAPOLIS -- The Minnesota Twins launched the "Tanks from the Twins" ticket offer on Monday. It will provide a ticket discount equivalent to the national average for the price of a gallon of gasoline. The amount of the ticket discount will adjust each Monday morning, reflecting the most current national average for a gallon of gasoline.

During that week, a single-game ticket in the Upper Club and Lower Reserved sections of the Metrodome purchased for any game during the 2008 season will be discounted by that amount. For example, if the average price for a gallon of gasoline [image-nocss] is $3.93 it will result in the reduction of the price of any single game ticket in the specified seating areas by $3.93.

As the cost of a gallon of gasoline rises so does the savings on a Twins ticket. The offer may not be combined with any other discount or promotion. The maximum number of tickets that may be purchased with this discount is eight.

"The Twins organization recognizes the significant impact the rising price of gas has on our fans who travel to the Metrodome from throughout Twins Territory," said Patrick Klinger, Twins vice president of marketing. "Affordability has always been a hallmark of Twins baseball, and it's important that fans are still able to enjoy a game at the stadium. Tanks from the Twins can save a family of four as much as $16 on their ticket purchase right now and as the cost of gas goes up so will the amount of the discount."

Tanks from the Twins is available exclusively throughwww.twinsbaseball.com and (800) 33-TWINS. The average per gallon price as reported each Monday morning will be posted on the Twins homepage with a link leading to the current ticket offer.
