This is the sixth consecutive year Wilson Farms has supported the Check Out Hunger campaign.
Check Out Hunger provides a quick and easy way for shoppers to help feed the needy in their communities. [image-nocss] Customers can have store associates add their donation to their bill directly at the checkout with all proceeds going directly to the food banks.
A $2 donation will provide 11 meals to individuals (depending on the Food Bank); $3 provides 16.5 meals and $5 provides 27.5 meals, according to the Food Bank of Western New York.
"Over the past 5 years, Wilson Farms has raised more than $145,000 for the Food Banks of Western & Central New York through the generosity our of customers," said Wilson Farms president and CEO, Paul Nanula. "Our team is excited to be a part of this campaign again in 2011, and we are proud to give our customers the ability to make a difference in the lives of their neighbors."
Through the Check Out Hunger campaign, Wilson Farms not only raises funds for the local food banks, but also awareness of hunger in local communities, Nanula added.
