"Our team is proud to aid such a worthwhile organization and through the generous contributions of our customers we hope to meet and exceed our fundraising goal," said Wilson [image-nocss] Farms president and CEO Paul Nanula.
Meanwhile, Wilson Farms was the title sponsor for Ahmad Rashad's FAN Awards Network (FAN), which held its first ever FAN Awards show on May 21 at Shea's Performing Arts Center in Buffalo, N.Y. The Buffalo Fan Awards event featured 40 awards and honored local sports stars and legends from high school, college and professional sports in the Western New York area.
Each nominee (selected by the FAN nominations committee) was featured on the official website www.buffalofanawards.com, where fans could vote for their favorite local athlete, team and coach in each of 26 categories. The nominations committee was comprised of local sports media and is led by Dick Gallagher, founder of Western New York High School Sports magazine.
Some of Buffalo's most beloved sports figures and celebrities who participated in the event included Jim Kelly, Thurman Thomas, Andre Reed, Ryan Miller, Matthew Barnaby, Billy Shaw, Joe DeLamielleure, Booker Edgerson, Ruben Brown, Rob Ray, Goo Goo Dolls founder Robby Takac and many more.
"We are proud to team up with Ahmad Rashad's FAN Awards Network (FAN)," said Nanula. "As a locally-owned and operated company, we appreciate and support the positive influence organized sports has on our communities. We are also thankful for the commitment of FAN to local non-profit organizations such as The Buffalo Bills Alumni Foundation; The Buffalo Sabres Alumni Foundation; The Steadfast Foundation; Music Is Art; Kelly for Kids Foundation; and Hunter's Hope Foundation."
