CLEVELAND -- The National Confectionery Sales Association (NCSA) will recognize 11 candy-industry leaders with induction into the Candy Hall of Fame in Tampa, Fla., on Oct. 15.
The Candy Hall of Fame honors individuals who have dedicated their careers to giving back for the overall benefit of the confectionery industry.
The 2016 inductees are:
- Greg Cater, Sweet Candy Co.
- Shelly Clarey, Adams & Brooks Inc.
- James Day, Esther Price Candies Corp.
- Vivian Farber, The Madelaine Chocolate Co.
- Bernard Garbusjuk, Boehm's Candies Inc.
- Thalia Hohenthal, Guittard Chocolate Co.
- Kevin Miller, Acosta Sales & Marketing
- Dan Mueller, Mueller Yurgae Associates
- Patrick Murnane, Murnane Cos.
- Debra Robins, Century Distributors Inc.
- Hans Arthur Faerber (posthumous), NID Pty Ltd.
The Candy Hall of Fame weekend will take place during the NCSA’s 117th Annual Meeting, Oct. 14-16.
A gala dinner featuring audio/visual presentations highlighting the honorees’ professional and personal lives will precede the induction ceremony.
The annual event draws more than 300 industry leaders, family members and friends from around the world for a weekend to celebrate the candy category’s best and brightest.
To be eligible, nominees must be at least 50 years old and have worked in the business for more than 20 years. The group considers individuals from all disciplines for this award, including scientists, manufacturers, salespeople, brokers, retail confectioners, suppliers to the category and wholesalers.
Formed in 1899, the NCSA is dedicated to furthering the positive growth and acceptance of confectionery products and recognizing the achievements of category leaders from all sectors of the international industry. It founded the Candy Hall of Fame in 1971 and recognizes lifetime career achievements in the confectionery industry.
