HESPERIA, Calif. -- Online candy store Candy Crate has identified the top 10 candies consumed during the summer in America through a survey entitled "What is Your Favorite Summer Time Candy?"
A mix of traditional, sweet and sour candies took the top 10 positions with Salt Water Taffy sweeping the top spot with more than 25% of the votes.

- Jelly Fruit Slices
- Tootsie Rolls
- Sour Patch Kids
- Sixlets
- Zotz
- Astro Pops
- Watermelon Gummy Rings
- Jolly Ranchers
Other popular summer sweet treats included Lemonheads, Licorice, Sweetarts, Pop Rocks, Warheads and frozen chocolate bars (Charleston Chews, Milky Way and 3 Musketeers).
Findings for the July 2013 survey were based on 2,100 responses from all 50 states and the District of Columbia. Men and women ages 18 to 70 cast their ballot for the sweet they enjoyed most during the summer season.
