FRAMINGHAM, Mass. --Cumberland Farms is voluntarily recalling its Caramel Sea Salt Delights flavor of Cumberland Farms Farmhouse Premium Chocolate Treats due to concerns about the possible presence of peanuts.
The Caramel Sea Salt Delights flavor of Cumberland Farms Farmhouse Premium Chocolate Treats is the only product the company is recalling.
Although the packaging clearly states the product is packed in a facility where other products containing peanuts, tree nuts, milk, wheat, soy and eggs are packaged, Cumberland Farms out of an abundance of caution is recalling all of the 3-ounce bags of the Cumberland Farms Farmhouse Premium Chocolate Treats Caramel Sea Salt Delights.
“We were made aware of the presence of the peanuts through two customer complaints,” the company said. “Cumberland Farms is not aware of any related illnesses at this time.”
Although the company believes this to be an extremely isolated incident, all Cumberland Farms retail locations have withdrawn this product from sale, effective immediately.
Cumberland Farms is asking that customers who purchased the affected product discard it immediately or return it to the nearest Cumberland Farms for a full refund.
Framingham, Mass.-based Cumberland Farms operates approximately 560 convenience stores in eight states in the Northeast and Florida.
