Giant Made of Sweets and Candy Is A Hit for ampm

New Hispanic ad campaign features bilingual Toomgis

LA PALMA, Calif. -- Big Foot has nothing on Toomgis.

The snack giant created by BP's ampm marketing team not only is real, it's real big. And real popular.

And now Toomgis is even bilingual, speaking fluent Spanish in a new advertising campaign.

"The reception to Toomgis has been nothing short of amazing, and he really has taken on a life of his own," Donna Sanker, head of marketing at BP Fuels North America, told CSP Daily News. "We’ve even been getting requests for Toomgis merchandise like T-shirts and bobbleheads."

Toomgis honors the chain's "Too Much Good Stuff" slogan and debuted this spring. With hot dogs for fingers, candy bars for toes, licorice for hair, a beard made of cheese curls, a cheeseburger for a nose and a body full of doughnuts and snacks, this giant stands 7-feet, 6-inches tall. Toomgis was designed by Bodin Sterba Design of Milwaukee.

A new Hispanic campaign featuring Toomgis is making the rounds on the internet in a series of “webisodes” created by Funny or Die.

Most recently, Toomgis threw out the first pitch at Dodger Stadium. The convenience chain has had a partnership with the Dodgers for two years, and opened its first convenience store inside the stadium last year.  This year, the retailer began selling Dodger Dogs at stores in the Los Angeles area.
